Bobby is a two-act contemporary tragedy involving a drug dealer, a stripper, a man obsessed with entering sweepstakes, and a grocery store clerk. It is a story that illustrates what can happen to good people in an unforgiving city. Identity is a large, recurring motif in the play. Sometimes people can be in the same room with each other but have no idea how their lives are intertwined. Bobby was Monkey With a Hat On’s first Portland-written tragedy/drama, and it was well received. The performance was sexy, funny, and dark.
