The Portland Ten Minute Play Festival is a seasonal collaborative event created by the community theater company Monkey With a Hat On. The festival features ten locally written ten minute plays. Each play features different writers, actors and directors—many people are involved. The festival is a seasonal opportunity for Portland artists to share moments, and for the audience to experience a wide range of stories in one night. It’s a fun, festival atmosphere!

For our 11th festival, the theme is Sci-Fi!  Think: space madness, a futuristic flashlight discovered by religious pioneers, alien monsters, a world where people escape day-to-day life by using droning devices, a society where procreation must be approved by the government, genetic engineering gone wrong, a sexy department store mannequin android, space spiders from outer space, and more!

We are also pleased to provide interlude music and a light show in between the plays from the electro-soul Portland band Ellington Willoughby and the Andrew Jacksons.  They will be performing excerpts from their audio/visual song-cycle "Moonflower".
